I won an award!!
That’s so cool!
I want to thank Jackie from Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories for giving me the Versatile Blogger award.
The Rules for the award are:
1. Thank the person who gave you this award
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic for whatever reason! (in no particular order…)
4. Contact the bloggers you’ve picked and let them know about the award.
1. Thanks Jackie! (See above)
2. Hmmm… 7 things that people would actually want to know? That’s going to be hard.
1. I play the saxophone. But I don’t practice much so I’m not very good.
2. I work in a library but I’m in human resources so I don’t actually see the books very often.
3. I like Slurpees from 7 Eleven but for some reason I’m slightly embarrassed to be seen buying them.
3b. I like Coca Cola too, but I do not like Coca Cola Slurpees.
4. I’m a terrible speller.
5. I hate talking on the telephone or to people I don’t know and panic when talking to people I don’t know on the telephone.
6. At any one time I have about 10 different types of tea in my house.
7. I baked something for a church function once and got a reputation as a baker. Although I do like to bake I now contemplate bringing bad baked goods to functions so people will stop asking me to bake things. (Does that make me a bad person?)
3. My 15 blogs that are new(ish) to me and fantastic:
1. Michele at A Reader’s Respite
2. Karissa’s Reading Review
3. Tory at The Book Faery
4. Tez at Books and the Universe
5. Dead White Guys
6. Jennifer at Crazy-For-Books
7. The Friande
8. Shelah at Shelah Books It
9. Christina at Reading Extensively
10. Jennifer at Reading With Tequila
11. Fantastic Book Review
12. Books I Done Read
13. MizB at Should Be Reading
14. Katy at A Few More Pages
15. Greg at The New Dork Review of Books
4. I’m going to go do that right now.

Becca, you did well and guarantee you made me laugh! Because you do not like talking on the phone or to people you do not know and if talking to people on the phone you do not know you panic, that is one of the most interesting phobias I have ever heard of.
BTW like slurpees too but they call them Icees at WalMart where you can only buy 2 flavors, Coke or Cherry. Needless to say I do not like the Coca Cola slurpee/Icee either but the cherry one is fantabulous...
Glad you accepted the award and cute post and great picks too for your 15, have most of them already on my I follow listing!!

Congrats on the award! Thanks so much for passing it on to me.
"I hate talking on the telephone or to people I don’t know and panic when talking to people I don’t know on the telephone."
I could have written the exact thing word for word! I'm so happy to know I'm not alone in my telephone-hating!
:) Thanks for the award.
Congratulations for getting this award, and thank you so much for passing it on to me!
I haven't spotted your blog before but, while I'm here, may I say that you have a fantastic blog name. It reminds me of a stern English grandfather berating someone (probably me).
Also - tea! Do you get the same awkardness when visitors come over and you run through your tea options only to be stared at blankly? Followed by them saying carefully, "Whatever the first one was, thanks." Nope? Neither do I.
- Ilona
Katy - I knew I couldn't be the only one who hated the phone. The problem was I had to admit it before I could find out and I never have the nerve in person. That's one thing that is great about a blog.
The Friande - Don't worry. Most people haven't spotted my blog.
I will not embarrass myself anymore than I already have by saying how long I thought about blog names before I came up with this one. It was a long time.
Luckily (or maybe not) anyone that would be at my house drinking tea already knows I’m crazy so they usually just laugh at me. I mean, no, never. Never happens.
Thanks for the award! Congrats to you too!
I'm not a phone person either but I'll text and email out the wazoo!
Thanks for the award, and well done to you for being given it!
Thanks for the award! And congrats on receiving it :-)
stumbled across your blog and am really enjoying it. I have had the exact same experience with the baking! However to be honest.. I kinda love it.
